JCB premium card member’s magazine [JCB THE PREMIUM] has arrived from Japan.
There are a few pages about Perth as a special feature.
I took photos in Perth CBD, Fremantle area and some food and shops for this work.
Now in the digital age, I am so happy to see and have my images in print and magazine in my hands.

パース特集でのお仕事で撮影したパース市内、フリーマントルが載っています。
デジタル時代の今、写真が印刷されて手にとって見れるというのは嬉しい限りです。

I had made websites as side work in Japan. In Australia, I went to a university for studying Graphic Design and had experience to make advertising design and so on, so I understand what editors need.
It is not always a great photo needed to be used for a design job, especially magazines which need to have space for writing. However, photography’s judgements for a competition often say too much dead space in this image or crop image to focus more on main subject.
An image needs a different composition for each purposes. It is interesting.

日本では、副業でWeb作成。オーストラリアでは、大学のグラフィックデザインに行ったり、広告作成などの経験があるので、編集する人の立場もわかります。
デザインで使用するための写真は、いい写真だったとしても違ってきます。雑誌など、特に表紙は文字が入るので、スペースが必要です。でも、写真コンペの評価では、スペースがありすぎる。クロップした方がメインサブジェットにフォーカスするということをよく聞きます。
目的から写真の構図は違ってくる。面白い。
