About my photography
Hello! My name is Miwako Lucy. I am photographer in Perth. This post is my first time in English and Japanese. こんにちは！オーストラリアパースでフォトグラファーをやっているMiwakoです。
How I made my start in newborn photography?
I love travelling and to take photos. I worked for a local newspaper as an administrator but also I made advertising design and took photos of products, events and interviews. My first portrait photography job was the famous Japanese actress (Kaori Momoi). I was so nervous, After that I guess I got my confidence! A few years later, I had the chance to attend a newborn workshop with international famous newborn photographer Erin Elizabeth in Perth. Newborn photography was not popular in Japan at that time. I was just so impressed about newborn photography. It was my beginning into newborn photography.
どのようにニューボーンフォトグラフィーを始めたのか？
旅行、写真好きが、ローカル新聞社で事務として働き、幸運にも、広告デザイン、商品撮影、イベント撮影。なんと、桃井かおりさんのインタビュー撮影が初めての人物撮影。数年後、世界で有名なニューボーンフォトグラファーErin Elizabethさんのワークショップを受けて感動したのがニューボーンフォトスタートのきっかけです。
How I chose my business name?
My name plus photography. Lucy is my family name. I know it is like a girls‘ name right? But I like it and I don’t mind if someone calls me Lucy, because normally people call me by my family name in Japan. Miwako means beautiful, peaceful child. I hope it is true, hahaha 🙂
どのようにビジネスネームを選んだのか？
自分の名前とにPhotogrphyをプラスしただけ。ルーシー（Lucy）は姓名ですが、女の子の名前でよく使われます。Miwakoだけでは外国の方には言いにくいし覚えにくいと思ったので、Lucyという名前が好きですし、言いやすいし、覚えやすいのではと思いました。
What inspires me?
I find loads of inspiration through visual blogs and social media websites like Pinterest, Instagram and Youtube. There are so many inspirational people out there.
When I walk near a beach or river, I can see natural light around and nice scenery. Also cafes and displays in shopping stores inspire me.
何がひらめきを与えるか？
ソーシャルメディアから得るものは大きい。特に。Pinterest,Instagram,Youtube すごい人たちが世の中にはたくさんいます。
ビーチや川沿いを歩いている時に、目の前の自然な光の中の素敵な風景を観察する。カフェやお店のディスプレイもインスピレーションを与えてくれます。
What do I do when I’m not working, which influences my brand, my services, and/or my work?
Window shopping, Walking, Traveling, Go to cafes and Yoga.
Natural colours and simplicity influence my brand such as COUNTRY ROAD, Adairs and so on. Cafes are also great to get ideas. I check their logos, cards, interior and their services. Yoga gives me a break, clears my mind and body. After yoga, I am energised to do my work.
仕事をしていない時、自分のブランド、サービス、仕事に影響を受けることは何か？
ウィンドウショッピング、散歩、旅行、カフェに行く、ヨガ
カントリーロードやadairsなどのショップが好みなのと、自然な色とシンプルに影響を受けていると思う。カフェに行くのもアイデアを得られてとっても良いです。お店のロゴ、カード、インテリアやサービスなどチェックしちゃいます。ヨガは良い休憩になります。心、体もクリアになる。ヨガの後は、エナジャイズして良い仕事ができます。
Why do I blog?
After I read Newborn photographer Kelly Brown’s blog, I thought I should share and show what I do, therefor, increasing my photography brand awareness and giving clients an idea of what to expect. Also It give me a chance to re-think and deeply reflect on my photography business becoming clearer what I can do. It is a good way to improve my English.
なぜブログをするのか？
ニューボーンフォトグラファーKellyのブログを読んだ後、何を自分がしているか説明したり見せることが、私自身や写真ビジネスについて知ってもらえる、そしてお客様にサービスの内容をよりよく理解してもらえるのではと思いました。それに、ブログを書くことで、自分のフォトグラフィービジネスを深く見つめ直し、私は何ができるのかをクリアにしてくれます。英語の上達する良い方法ではないかと思いました。
