Newborn v.s Baby

“What is the difference between a Newborn and a Baby photoshoot?” This is common question from our clients.

「ニューボーンとベビー撮影の違いは？」とお客様からよく聞かれる質問。

What is the difference between a Newborn and a Baby photoshoot? 

Some photographers may define a Newborn and Baby differently. This is my definition of them both.

A Newborn is at the most earliest stage of the babies life. It is usually between 5-14 days, because they are very sleepy and still quite malleable. However, I often take sessions for older newborns up to 4 weeks old too (most of cases are premature baby). At those sessions we capture the tiny details, swaddle and poses in their comfy foetal position. We simply show just how tiny your newborn is! The newborn session time takes normal 2-3 hours. 

Once the baby reaches 2 -3 months, the ‘new’ born has grown into the baby!! Natural poses and more lifestyle photography are taken. Baby sessions generally are about one hour. 

ニューボーンとベビーフォト撮影の違いは何ですか？

フォトグラファーによって定義は違うかもしれませんが、ニューボーンはベビーの初期のステージで、私の場合は産まれてから5-14日ぐらいで撮影します。寝る期間が長いのと体が柔軟だからです。でも、まれに4週間ぐらいまでニューボーンとして撮影することがあります （早期出産のケースが多い）。布で巻いたり、快適な胎児のポーズで撮影します。シンプルにニューボーンベビーがどれだけ小さいか写真に残せます。撮影時間は通常2-3時間です。

2-3ヵ月になると、ニューボーンはベビーに育ち、自然なポーズでライフスタイルの撮影になり、撮影時間は通常1時間です。

When is the best time to photograph a baby?

100 day baby photoshoots are popular for Asians. It is a milestone. If your baby is able to hold their head up by themselves, this is a great way to get nice photos. Also around the age of 3 months, this is a good time to photograph them for more smiles and giggles.

Sitter sessions are popular. Usually at 5-8 months old your baby can sit on their own. It is a great time to capture them before they start to become more mobile and difficult to capture.

ベビーを撮影するベストな時はいつ？

節目でもある100日ベビー撮影はアジアでは人気。赤ちゃんが自分で頭を支えることができれば、素敵な写真ができます。約３ヶ月ベビーもよく笑ったりするので、撮影するにはいい時期です。

自分で座ることができるようになる時期（通常は５−８ヶ月の赤ちゃん）。海外ではSitter session（座っているセッション）と言われていています。ハイハイして動き回るより前に撮影するのがベストです。
